Gorgeous traditional old-world chinoiserie vintage piece in pristine never-used condition, features “Les Pecheurs” (the fishermen), a traditional motif in chinoiserie, in the center of the design with nets and baskets, from the venerable old boutique firm of Bailey & Griffin. A ribbony stripe in shades of blues outlines the edges of the scene, set by a pond in nature. Printed in the UK on a blend of linen and cotton, featuring many shades of blue on a warm ivory background. The reverse is a fabulous matching window check in blue on warm ivory in 100% cotton from Stroheim. A superb quality fan ribbon trim from Samuel and Sons in threads of matching blue and ivory, unites the sides and outlines the scene.
