Manuel Canovas Elegant Cerise Toile 16 X 16 Square Designer Pillow with Down Feather Insert
Manuel Canovas’ stunning prints are instantly recognizable for their large scale and striking, often audacious ultra-saturated color harmonies and layers, even when reworking a traditional 19th century document Toile de Jouy, like Balleroy. This is& one of his most recognized toiles, featuring courting couples in a stylized country setting of Balleroy, an area of Normandy famous for its chateau, coastline, old villages, and apple orchards. Typical of Canovas’ coloration, the figures in this striking toile are sketched in a vivid cerise rose on a background of deep taupe with a soft jade cast. The reverse side of the pillow is a beautiful textured Belgian linen in taupe. The two sides are perfectly united with a small grosgrain ribbon piping, also in Cerise.
